On Monday, November 13, Diana Steeble, PRR co-owner, board president, and Health sector lead, received the Puget Sound PRSA’s Hugh Smith Community Service award.

Our Portland office has grown to a team of three dedicated individuals, including Kristen, and an office at VIDA coworking in northeast Portland.

If you’re familiar with the transportation industry, then you know that acronyms and abbreviations are a way of life. There are various acronyms you’ll likely run into, but one such acronym to be familiar with is “TOD,” which stands for transit-oriented development.

Many staff at PRR have AAPI roots and are full of unique stories and experiences that shape their identity in both their workplace and personal lives. There is a lot we didn’t get to do in the pandemic. But, it was possible to use communications skills to make small changes for the greater good.

Recently, PRR hosted a workshop on inclusive engagement during COVID-19 focused on our work with Washington state clients in the environmental sector. Collaboratively with participants, we defined inclusive engagement, considered how inclusive engagement leads to better project outcomes and talked through four strategies for success with tactics for each.

It’s been just over a year since the nationwide Stay-at-Home order and the PRR team moving to a fully virtual environment. Who’s tired of hearing about pivots, virtual-this-and-that, and lawyers with cat faces? Ok–so we’re not tired of the face filter yet. The truth is digital engagement was a vital tool for inclusion before and only grew in scope during the pandemic.
