Communications Associate
Washington
I serve as a consultant construction communicator for the WSDOT I-405/SR 167 Program, providing counsel, creating materials, managing social media, and conducting outreach for active construction projects along the corridor. Construction is something visual, which means I can see progress in the community and eventually benefits to the travelers and people I’ve engaged for years to come. Giving back to my community is always important, which is why I regularly volunteer in my community food banks to help reduce food insecurity. Otherwise, I’m usually cooking, reading, or visiting the zoo with my partner and my animal-loving child!

An anti-racist PRR dismantles systems of advantage based on race when and wherever possible. We engage staff of all racial identities in dismantling white supremacy culture at work. This includes personal ideologies, beliefs, and behaviors. And, it includes removing white supremacy culture from the systems, cultural messages, institutional policies, procedures, and practices that PRR and our staff interact with and inform. We believe it is not enough to be “not racist.” We must be “anti-racist.”
