Community Engagement

With nearly two decades of public-sector experience, I’ve had the privilege of shaping communications strategies across a wide spectrum of fields, including transportation, public health, social services, and higher education. At PRR, I specialize in crafting messaging that not only informs but inspires. My goal is to empower the public to become active participants in shaping the projects that impact their lives, fostering a deeper understanding and genuine engagement. I thrive on presenting complex information in ways that are accessible, relevant, and impactful—because everyone deserves to have their voice heard and their contributions valued. Beyond my role at PRR, I proudly serve as a member of the Tumwater City Council, where I channel my passion for community connection and public service. I’m deeply committed to creating spaces where people don’t just fit in—they truly belong. This principle informs every communication and engagement plan I help develop, ensuring inclusivity and empowerment remain at the heart of everything I do. When I’m not busy crafting strategies or serving my community, you’ll find me enjoying my lifelong love of music. As a child of the ‘80s, my playlists are an eclectic mix of Prince, Def Leppard, Beyoncé, Chappell Roan, and Kendrick Lamar. During the fall and early winters, Sundays are for football (and occasional tears) at Lumen Field or from my couch, where I cheer on the Seahawks. At home, I share life’s adventures with my husband, our three adorable fur babies—Lily, Lola, and Teddy—and a wonderfully blended family of six adult children who are making their own way in the world.

Vision statement of anti-racism.

An anti-racist PRR dismantles systems of advantage based on race when and wherever possible. We engage staff of all racial identities in dismantling white supremacy culture at work. This  includes personal ideologies, beliefs, and behaviors. And, it includes removing white supremacy culture from the systems, cultural messages, institutional policies, procedures, and practices that PRR and our staff interact with and inform. We believe it is not enough to be “not racist.” We must be “anti-racist.”
