We all want to be aware of the things that might impact our daily lives – whether it’s construction or emergency water supply preparedness. I specialize in helping plan for and create innovative, inclusive, and relevant opportunities for people to see and engage with this information on behalf of our clients in the transportation, health, and environmental sectors. As lead of PRR’s community-based organization (CBO) partnerships program, I guide the process to build meaningful, reciprocal relationships with CBOs in the communities we serve. I came to PRR from the nonprofit sector and understand how critical community resources and programs are to a resilient, informed community ecosystem. In my free time, you’ll find me at a thrift store, playing with my two kitties, practicing hot yoga, or enjoying a Hazy IPA!

DEI
My role as construction communicator at PRR centers on keeping the public informed about what’s happening around them so they can keep moving and living their lives. The dynamic nature of construction means something is happening every day, so there’s always something to plan for and say. When I’m not working, I like to hike near Mt. Rainier, travel anywhere warm, visit as many national parks as possible, and hang out with my dogs and husband.

Community Engagement
I lead PRR’s transportation business development on the west coast while also supporting clients on emerging transportation policies and issues including road-usage charge/milage-based user fees, all-electronic tolling, new mobility, and electrification. My technical understanding combined with emotional intelligence, creativity, and empathy allows me to effectively communicate about these complex topics in a variety of communities and environments. My work brings together disciplines of research, storytelling, digital media, and community engagement to deliver messages in meaningful places and ways. After over a decade with PRR, I still love the work that allows me to combine my love of civic engagement, with creativity and constant learning. When I'm not working, I'm playing with my husband and daughter, clanging weights at CrossFit, or devouring a new piece of historical fiction or memoir.

Social Marketing
My work is all about helping community members and stakeholders work with clients to make projects better, and to increase the positive impact of projects, often in ways that would have been impossible to guess before involving the public. Outside of work and family, I use my fundraising and writing skills to help small non-profits pursue the resources they need to affect change in our community, recently helping one group raise over $200,000 to support after-school leadership development programs for refugee and immigrant youth. More than anything, I love to spend time with my family. This could include cooking with my husband, Pietro, working together to help our tween and teen kids pursue their passions, and generally goofing off together.

Facilitation
As a Community Engagement Specialist, I help clients connect and listen to the communities and organizations affected by planned or active projects. Even more rewarding, working at PRR has allowed me to focus on engaging with marginalized, overlooked, and harder to reach communities associated with our client work. My passion is returning agency to communities forced to go without, and I'm happy to continue doing so with an organization like PRR that values doing the same. My passion for community extends beyond work to giving back through service as a member of the Canton Community Association, and previously a NAACP Youth Executive Committee member. When I’m not working, I’m playing with my dogs, traveling with my wife, and practicing hot yoga.

Community Engagement
As a Senior Technical Project Manager and Web Developer at PRR, I oversee the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of websites for our clients. Beyond development, my role involves managing project timelines, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that our digital solutions meet and exceed client expectations. What invigorates me about my job is the fusion of technical execution and project management. Also, the work here is purpose-driven, and it's rewarding to contribute to projects that have meaningful social impact. My passion for community engagement and sustainable living extend outside of PRR, where I teach student web development bootcamps and participate in cycling and hiking events focused on environmental awareness. As an avid traveler who lived abroad for two years, I appreciate the opportunity to explore new cultures and landscapes. I also enjoy snowboarding, hiking, and cycling.

I serve as a consultant construction communicator for the WSDOT I-405/SR 167 Program, providing counsel, creating materials, managing social media, and conducting outreach for active construction projects along the corridor. Construction is something visual, which means I can see progress in the community and eventually benefits to the travelers and people I’ve engaged for years to come. Giving back to my community is always important, which is why I regularly volunteer in my community food banks to help reduce food insecurity. Otherwise, I’m usually cooking, reading, or visiting the zoo with my partner and my animal-loving child!

Community Engagement
I provide collaboration and leadership for creative design solutions, with expertise that includes creating engaging and beautiful branding, print collateral, newsletters, digital ads, web pages, and brochures. I'm obsessed with prioritizing user and audience needs, with a passion for projects that have meaning, improve quality of life, and shape the future in exciting ways. The last few years have brought me a passion for growing food and the whole-person healing that comes from being in nature—and I love to share the experience with others. Recently I  spent time volunteering at King County farms and community gardens, as well as those in Southern California and Arizona. I also love hiking, making a delicious mess in the kitchen, and falling asleep in a hammock with a book on my face.

Vision statement of anti-racism.

An anti-racist PRR dismantles systems of advantage based on race when and wherever possible. We engage staff of all racial identities in dismantling white supremacy culture at work. This  includes personal ideologies, beliefs, and behaviors. And, it includes removing white supremacy culture from the systems, cultural messages, institutional policies, procedures, and practices that PRR and our staff interact with and inform. We believe it is not enough to be “not racist.” We must be “anti-racist.”
